Kariobangi Sharks early season promise that saw them conquer East Africa to win the SportPesa Super Cup has somewhat faded over the last few weeks. William Muluhya’s boys will face off with Mathare United in a match dubbed the ‘Slum derby’ on Wednesday afternoon with Sharks form a major concern heading into the round 29 fixture.

Kariobangi Sharks are winless in their last 11 Kenya Premier League matches and lost 3-0 at home in their last match against Kakamega Homeboyz. Their goal difference is at an embarrassing -2 despite being 10th on the log and will need to start picking up points sooner rather than later.

Mathare United on the other hand are on a good run of form, unbeaten in their last five with the last match being an emphatic 2-0 win over another inform team, AFC Leopards. Francis Kimanzi’s team is currently 4th on the table with 46 points, 3 less than 3rd placed Bandari.

It is widely known that form goes out of the window whenever there is a derby match and it is pretty obvious this is what Sharks will cling on to. Their form lately has been relegation material but a match against Mathare United is the perfect opportunity to arrest that decline and build on a positive result.

We will have all the action as it happens….Keep it here….
