Kariobangi Sharks ended their 11 matches winless run in a 3-2 win over Mathare United in a Kenya Premier League match played at the Kasarani Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. William Muluhya’s boys were on a very bad run of form prior to this match but dug deep to secure a memorable win.

Eric Kapaito put the Sportpesa Supercup Champions ahead on the half-hour mark before Dennis Abuya added a second on the stroke of half time to give them a commanding lead going into the break. Sharks were playing the better football thus far and the result truly reflected on their first-half performance.

Mathare United came back into the second half guns blazing and pulled one back just two minutes after the restart through Clifford Alwanga. Sharks would however up the tempo and scored yet again in the 70th minute through Malaba. Mathare would not do down without a fight and reduced the deficit just 3 minutes later through a Nyakeya penalty after he was brought down inside the box.

Sharks held on to record their first win in over 2 months and are now 10th on the log with 38 points while Mathare Unite remain 4th with 46 points.
