‘Lotto’ hit maker Akothee has warned her fans over depression that comes as a result of social media pressure.
The Singer says that social media has sent the youth into some unnecessary pressure which most often leads to depression
She went further to elaborate how the fake social media lifestyle is ruining lives and makes it difficult for people to live and deal with their realities.
“I mean your first post on social media will determine the pressure you will acclaim to.
Some of you have posted too much photos in lavish hotels and none in their houses …you may think they are the bosses of room service
Other have posted Photos next to luxurious cars..none in a matatu..you may think they are car dealers
Some ladies have posted photos in wigs and makeup..none in their natural form… You may think they are the brand ambassadors of those products
Some of you post too much designer outfits none in their own cloth..you may think they sleep in them” she explained in her post
The mother of five encouraged people to be real with themselves to avoid bowing to the pressure.
She also stated that people struggle to impress their followers yet they are virtual people who might not really be concerned.
