French international Paul Pogba, who is currently linked to a move to Madrid, is pushing heavily to leave Manchester United this summer.

Possibly because Manchester United are in a very bad place right now!

Pogba has come in for some incredible criticism since moving to United three years ago, and he’s been often expected to be something like six players in one.

However, he has really taken the heat this season as he’s been unable to guide United any higher than either fifth or sixth-place finish in the Premier League.

In fact, their failure to make the Champions League places was confirmed on Sunday as they drew 1-1 with Huddersfield Town

While a chunk of the criticism is deserved for Pogba as one of the 25 players failing to pull their weight, he has still notched 16 goals and 11 assists across all competitions this season.

And he’s probably been one of United’s best players. When it comes to talent, he is their best, and that might be why he sees his future away from Old Trafford.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid is determined to sign him, that’s no secret; and it looks like the player is set to put the wheels in motion over the next few weeks by forcing the club’s hand.

However, United’s price tag stands at a whopping € 160m for Paul Pogba.

A price which Real Madrid aren’t willing to pay that much as they’re also expected to drop £100m on Eden Hazard.

Hence, Pogba is trying to force United to drop the demand to something more respectable – at around €120m.

Pogba, it seems, can sense that United is something of a sinking ship and it’s going to take a lot of repair work to get it anywhere near fixed, so he’s looking to get out while he can.

He certainly won’t want to play in the Europa League again.

He’s just missed out on a £1.875m Champions League qualification bonus, so what else is left?
