Miguna attacks President Kenyatta after re-appointing General Mwathethe

General Miguna Miguna has reacted to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s extension of Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe’s term.

According to the vocal controversial lawyer, President Kenyatta just extended Mwathethe’s term since he did not have any one to appoint from his Kikuyu community.

” We know that Uhuru Kenyatta will appoint either Gen. Robert Kariuki Kibochi or Lt. Gen. Leonard Kariuki Ngondi as the Chief of the Defence Forces after Mwathethe’s exit. He postponed the appointment after Kenyans reacted furiously following the 13 out of 18 ambassadors.”

President Kenyatta extended Mwathethe’s term with one year after his four-year term lapsed in April.

Mwathethe was appointed in April 2015. In military tradition, the top seat is held in rotation from one tri-service to the next.

He replaced Julius Karangi from Kenya Airforce and the next CDF should be the senior most Kenya Army officer Kimbochi.

Mwathethe has held various command appointments such as Vice Chief of the Defence Forces, Navy Commander, Deputy Navy Commander and Navy logistics Commander.
