‘He is Equal to the task’ Kiraithe showers his replacement with Praises

Outgoing government spokesperson Eric Kiraithe has showered his replacement in the docket Colonel Cyrus Oguna as a man who is equal to the task.

Kiraithe was fired on Tuesday morning by ICT CS Joe Mucheru, who said that the former Linda Nchi spokesman was to take over with immediate effect.

And Eric Kiraithe, the man who has held the position for the past three years says that he has worked with Oguna and he knows he will deliver in his mandate.

‘I have worked with the Colonel Oguna in the past and can assure Kenyans that the colonel is equal to the task.’

Unlike Kiraithe who worked under the Ministry of Interior, the new office of the government spokesperson shall be domiciled under the Ministry of ICT.

“In line with directions from the Executive Office of the President through the Head of the Public Service, the office of the Government Spokesman shall be domiciled at the ICT Ministry,”

In his new role, he will oversight the Directorate of Information and all county and sub-county information officers, Department of Public Communication and all officers seconded to ministries and government agencies, the National Government Communication Centre (NGCC) and the Government Media Centre, currently located on 11th floor of Teleposta Towers.

Oguna came to the limelight in 2011, when KDF moved to Somalia in Operation Linda Nchi. He has been praised for his eloquence and ability to navigate tricky questions from Journalists.

He holds a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from the University of Nairobi and a Masters from the Same institution.

Kiraithe on the other hand served as a Police spokesperson before being deployed to the Kenya Airports Authority as the General Manager in charge of security.

Kenyans believe he could be headed for a new bigger position in the Jubilee government. President Uhuru Kenyatta rarely fires his most trusted lieutenants.
