Bomet boyfriend killer surrenders to police

There is a new domestic violence turned fatal case every day in the country. Spousal killings are on the rise in the country and it’s hard to understand why.

Police in Bomet are holding a 19-year-old girl who reportedly surrendered to the authorities after stabbing her boyfriend to death over his daily wages.

The suspect is believed to have stabbed her boyfriend in the neck at Kapkwen area, Bomet County on Sunday.

Police report indicates that the two lovers were involved in an altercation before the teenager stabbed the man using a kitchen knife.

According to police, the two reportedly quarreled over some cash the man had earned from his manual labour work.

The deceased succumbed to injuries while being taken to Longisa County Referral Hospital.

The murder weapon was retrieved as police commenced investigating the incident.

The incident comes a day after a woman went into hiding after allegedly murdering her husband on Friday night.

According to the police, the 30-year-old woman stabbed her husband, 33, to death following a domestic dispute over proceeds he received after selling a blue gum tree at their farm.

Neighbours say the deceased is believed to have caned her before she took a kitchen knife and stabbed him on the chest and left him bleeding before escaping.

Neighbours who heard the commotion went to the house and took the man to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
