The one defender Gary Neville is blaming for humiliating defence

Manchester United has continued to record poor results in the English Premier League again losing the grip and a chance to play in the Champions League.

The club has had a poor record of defending as it has been witnessed in former matches which is what ate on them today although they had an early goal.

The results have angered formerUnited player and he was fast to blast one of the defenders who he thinks is to be highly to be blamed.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville tore into Luke Shaw for his ’embarrassing’ defending during the club’s 1-1 draw with Huddersfield.

The Red Devils took an early lead through Scott McTominay as they looked to make a quick start to keep their top four hopes alive. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side took their foot off the gas afterwards and invited the relegated Terriers back into the match.

Nevertheless, United looked comfortable enough when Juan Mata was taking a corner for the Reds. Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl collected his delivery and punted a long ball downfield searching for lone frontman Isaac Mbenza.

Shaw looked set to deal with it comfortably but the full-back missed with his swinging leg, allowing Mbenza through to score.

And Neville was far from complimentary about Shaw’s defending, describing his mistake as ’embarrassing’. ‘There was a goal similar last season that went right through this Manchester United defence,’ said Neville on Sky Sports. ‘Lossl he’ll be congratulated he had a nightmare for the first goal but he sees it quickly. ‘Well, Luke Shaw that’s just embarrassing.

Then you look at David De Gea, he saves so many with his feet [but] this one’s through his legs. ‘Mbenza takes a look, side foots it, knows that De Gea will split his legs to save it with his feet.’

United’s hopes of finishing in the top four are now over. Solskjaer faces the unenviable task of trying to rebuild at Old Trafford and will have to do so without the lure of Champions League football.
