Barcelona’s bid to sign Sensational Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt has gone higher than it was first thought when they merely announced their desire to have the star.
De Ligt has rocked Europe recently after showing a good display in the Champions League matches.
Many clubs like Juventus, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked with the 19-year old’s move this summer.
Barcelona were the first to declare their bid to sign the Ajax superstar alongside his teammate De Jong who have already signed up for the Blaugrana.
De Ligt had earlier declared that Barcelona is his first team of choice despite his agent Mino Raiola indicating that he wants a team that will offer big deal.
But the Dutch footballer’s current quote has hit Barcelona with fears and it is reported that Barca are looking to step forward to sign the star since they know the negotiations have become complicated.
De Ligt recently commented that he has also been admiring to play for Bayern Munich, who have also shown their interest in the star.
Barcelona have to meet the offer that the star’s agent requires or else they might end up losing the star.
