Top City Lawyer warns Kenyans against a dangerous incoming Deputy President

2022 Succession politics has been the talk of the nation, with interested parties playing safe their cards to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022.

Deputy President Dr William Ruto is one of the main Contestants in the 2022 presidential race. He has been traversing the Country with an aim of swaying voters towards his support.

In most of his tours which have hence been nicknamed Tanga Tanga missions, the DP has been occasionally seen with Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.

Speculations have been there that the DP is preparing Governor Baba Yao to be his running mate in the journey to the State House.

However, top City Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has warned Kenyans about the incoming Deputy President Baba Yao.

He has asked Kenyans to have a look at their next DP, and urged them never to complain in 2023.

“Knowing its Governor Ferdinand Waititu is our next Deputy President, Kiambu County is already doing rehearsal in local & Foreign expenditure: It has allocated money for our State House & South Sudan Peace Process …. Kenya, here, meet your next DP & don’t complain in 2023! ” he posted.


Governor Ferdinand Waititu has come under fire for a Sh2.5 billion expenditure that caused the Senate order a special audit.

The governor was on Thursday hard-pressed to explain the  expenditure in 2017-18 financial year.

Among the queried expenses are Sh902 million spent on coordination of State House Functions. The vote had been allocated Sh973.9 million during the year.

According to the County’s financial statements presented to the Senate by Waitutu’s government, Kiambu spent all the Sh180.5 million set aside for administration of statutory benefits for retired presidents

State Corporations Advisory Services gobbled up Sh591.6 million set aside in the county’s 2017-18 financial year for the budget line.

The Kiambu government also spent some Sh793 million on Free Primary Education. The vote, despite being a National Government function had been allocated a whooping Sh804 million during the year.

Kiambu spent Sh58 million on Kenya-South Sudan Advisory Services.

The allocations and expenditures were flagged out by the Senate County Public Accounts and Investments Committee chairman Moses Kajwang.
