A quack doctor from Omindo trading center, Gem sub-County, Siaya County is said to have killed a patient before fleeing.
Mark Anthony Olocho the quack doctor is said to have administered an injection to 32-year-old Ngesa Odula who is said to have collapsed, started convulsing and died immediately.
The Monday incident started out when the late Ngesa was sent to buy some drugs after falling ill and seeking medical attention at a nearby medical center.
Ngesa is said to have made a trip to the quack doctor’s clinic to look for the drugs only to be convinced that the injection is an alternative.
After the incident, Olocho is said to have excused himself from the clinic saying that he was going to get a vehicle to ferry the patient to the hospital, but never returned. Police have launched a manhunt for the quack doctor with Siaya County being urged to begin a crackdown of such doctors.
Fredrick Odour Oselu of the ACK Maseno West Diocese condemned the incident and urged Siaya County government to consider carrying out a crackdown to weed out such elements that are said to be operating in villages across the county.
