While we may be one of the most connected generations in human history, we are also disconnected by the same technology that unites us. We use our smartphones as our plus ones at events and parties so we don’t have to interact with people. Our usage habits have made us lonely in our isolation, yet we are constantly interacting with people online in a cruel ironic twist.

There are ways we can put the phone down to prioritize human to human intimacy. Smartphones now help you monitor your screen time so you can make a conscious effort to unplug and spend time for other things.

Couples can also opt to leave their phones in the living room at night so they can spend time cultivating their relationship without being lured away by digital distraction.
