Moyes insists Manchester United are yet to get over him

Despite winning the UEFA Europa League, FA and Carabao Cup since his departure, David Moyes believes Manchester United are in a similar position now as they were when he joined the club in 2013.

Moyes’ tenure at United was disastrous which led to the club posting dismal results as he was shown the door before he could even oversee his first season in charge. Ryan Giggs was tasked with taking interim charge until Louis van Gaal was hired ahead of the next campaign with the Dutch manager bringing the elusive FA Cup back to Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho was hired after van Gaal with the Portuguese paving way for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back in December.

In an interview with TalkSport, Moyes revealed that the club is still on a spending spree and have not moved on since his sacking, “I feel that since I took over to where they are just now, I don’t think there’s an awful lot of difference. When I took over it was needing a change and needing a turnaround of players, and that was all going to take time. I feel like in the four years or so since I was managing there, it’s probably not moved on much more.

“It’s quite similar, they’re still saying there need to be changes and has to be things done. That time since I felt hasn’t been used awfully well.”
