Robert Matano’s Tusker FC ended Kakamega Homeboyz 9 matches unbeaten run with a thumping win in a Kenya Premier League match played at the Bukhungu Stadium. Homeboyz came into this match ahead of Tusker in the table but ended the day questioning their ability to maintain that position.

Two quickfire goals from Tusker towards the end of the first half ended the match as a contest. First, Majak stroke home beautifully after a swift team move before former Sony Sugar forward Boniface Muchiri added a second just a minute later.

At the start of the second half, midfielder Macharia scored the third for Tuske on the 46th-minute mark leaving Homeboyz shocked at what they had just seen. They did pull one back through Sakari in the 72nd minute but that was merely a consolation goal. Tusker showed maturity to control possession in the dying minutes of the match to take home 3 precious points.

The win moves Tusker to 6th on the log with 41 points, just a point behind Kakamega Homeboyz who dropped to 5th following that loss. Next up for Tusker is a date with Sofapaka on Sunday while Kakamega Homeboyz travel to face Kariobangi Sharks on the same day.
