The US Embassy Kenya has issued a warning to all those who do not have the new e-passport.
In a statement, the US government cited that they will not give visas to Kenyans with old passports.
According to the embassy’s spokesperson, “We can only place a US visa in a new passport. You may make an appointment with your current passport but you will need to obtain an e-passport before we can issue a visa.”
The directive from the embassy comes after Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau said his office would not endorse visa applications for senior government officials without the e-passport.
