Kenyan Legislator Mysteriously Dies in Mombasa

A Member of County Assembly died in Mombasa during an official trip to the coastal town.

The Marsabit Member of County Assembly for Loyangalani Mr Mark Ekale was with his colleagues drawn from the county government when the incident happened.

The legislator is said to have decided to relax himself in one of the town’s beaches in the company of his colleagues attending a LapFund conference when trouble began.

Ekale was to shortly thereafter complain of stomach pain before he experienced shortness of breath.

Before long, the legislator fainted, much to the panic of his colleagues who at the time were shocked at the happenings.

He has quickly rushed to Prima Hospital in Mombasa, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.

The MCA had in the past battled with High Blood Pressure before the incident took away his life.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing on of Loiyangalani MCA Hon Mark Ekale this Evening in Mombasa. Mark was an enthusiastic, always jovial and a leader who never hesitated to contribute positively to society.

“He always treasured his family, friends and committed himself to better the lives of his constituents. He will be remembered for his wisdom, sobriety and humility. May God grant his Soul Eternal Peace,” posted Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani.

Marsabit County Speaker, Matthew Loltome confirmed the incident, adding that the MCA had previously fainted before his untimely death.

“We are yet to establish the cause. He died in Mombasa. He complained that he was not feeling well and even fainted. 

“We are with the family here (Marsabit). It just happened last night. We are still deliberating on what to do,” stated Loltome.
