DP Ruto staff arrested in speedy investigations of stolen eggs

Just a day after a manager at Deputy President William Ruto’s farm in Sugoi, Uasin Gishu, police have reported the arrest of four suspects.

Th high profile robbery was reported on Monday, as police on Tuesday morning had already found suspects. A scenario that has left Kenyans on Twitter criticising, given that most criminal cases go for years on end without any results emerging from the investigations.

“I’m willing to bet in the same amount of time a woman has come requesting a P3 after being beaten or a young girl has come reporting rape,” remarked one Hellen Awillo.

Eldoret West police boss Zachariah Bittok said investigation was opened Monday after the farm manager reported that 10 crates of eggs were missing in an unclear circumstance.

“Our initial investigation revealed that four workers who reside inside the homestead were involved in the theft but they all denied,” said Mr Bittok.

He said this prompted police to do a search and the trays of eggs were recovered.

Now how police could tell that the eggs found were specifically from DP Ruto’s farm is yet to be known.
