Residents of Elementaita Village in Nakuru have decried the intervention of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) into the rise of wild animals attack in their village.

This was recently encountered when one of the women, innocently engrossed in her morning routine on Sunday, was attacked by buffaloes.

The villagers however, owing to her screams, saved the woman by chasing away the herd of buffaloes.

She was then rushed to Nakuru Level Five Hospital, where she is nursing critical injuries.

The residents complain that it is not the first time the wild has invaded their homes.

The residents also lamented that they have previously complained to KWS about the presence of the animals at a ranch owned by one of the locals but no solution has been forthcoming.

They are now calling upon the national government,  through the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, to intervene and erect an electric fence around the ranch to prevent the wildlife from attacking them or their children who resume school this week.
