What makes a good leader? Is it their ability to lead his or her nation to prosperity? Is it their ability to possess oratory skills that can captivate an audience to rally behind his cause?

Well, in Tanzania, President Maghufuli has shown that the true essence of being a great leader is one’s ability to serve others.

And by serving, we’re not just talking about supervising flaghship projects that can transform the livelihood of the citizens of a particular country, but also demonstrate little gestures that show how much the leader cares about the common mwananchi!

And that’s what Tanzanian president John Maghufuli did this Sunday, after serving as a humble usher and collecting the offerings of the congegration.

Just look how humble the most powerful man in Tanzania is!

Which begs the question; would the leaders here in Kenya do the same for the common folk?

Indeed, it sheds a light on the startling difference of leadership that the two neighbouring countries.

One country demonstrates a government that is clearly for the people and by the people, and another shows one where authoritarian rule trumps even the most basic freedom in the callous of ways.
