Have you ever received a message, through messenger, from someone who is not in your friend list on Facebook? Have you ever wondered why? They are usually sent but you don’t get them.
But aside from the messages in your main inbox, Facebook Messenger may also be hiding some secret messages.
Facebook explained: “You may not be aware, but if you’re not friends with someone on Messenger and they send you a message, it won’t appear in your inbox.
“Think of all those juicy unread messages – maybe even one from your best friend’s cousin’s work colleague you met at a house party six months ago! Worth hoping… Right?!”
How to find your secret messages
To check if you have any unread messages, open the Messenger app, before tapping the People icon at the bottom.
Next, tap the ‘add contact’ button at the top right, then ‘requests.’
Your secret messages will appear under ‘Filtered messages.’
Be warned – if your secret messages are anything like mine, there will be a fair few strange requests in there…
