Maina Kamanda’s response exposes Sonko badly

When Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko attacked nominated MP Maina Kamanda over corruption, Kamanda was present.

Sonko during the COTU Workers’ Prayer Day at the ACK st Stephen’s Church along Jogoo road had said Kamanda had grabbed land and put up buildings.

“Kamanda amegrab amejenga manyumba kwa road reserve,” Sonko claimed.

While responding to Sonko’s claims at the same function, Kamanda told off Sonko on graft.

He argued that he had legally acquired the allegedly grabbed land from a buyer who sold it after realising that some people wanted to grab it.

“I bought the land from a person who was selling it because someone wanted to grab it. I used a lawyer to do due diligence before I bought and Sonko should stop looking for cheap publicity.”

On the war against corruption, Kamanda said,” If you stop and ask a class two or class three pupil the most corrupt person in Kenya, they will give you only one name. And everybody knows that person.”

Kamanda said Sonko was acting childishly and challenged him to provide evidence.

Do you think Sonko was looking for cheap publicity when he blasted Maina Kamanda in his presence?
