Corruption is a key challenge in Kenya which fighting it has not been easy. It has really affected the Country’s economy growth. President Uhuru Kenyatta has identified fight against corruption as one of the legacy he wants to leave after his term comes to an end in 2022.
Several leaders have supported him in this, but some still feel that they are being targeted!
On Sunday, Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko came up with shocking revelations of how Kenya Re Company came down.
Sonko who was speaking during COTU workers’ prayer Day at St Stephen’ s Church along Jogoo Road decried Corruption, revealing the two names of people he thinks are corrupt in Nairobi.
Sonko who insisted that corruption should not be fought selectively said that former Nairobi County gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth is one of the corrupt people no one is talking about.
The Nairobi County boss revealed that Peter Kenneth, commonly referred to as PK is the sole conduit behind the collapse of Kenya Re.
Sonko demands action to taken against such people. He also revealed that Nominated Jubilee MP Maina Kamanda has put up several illegal structures on road reserves, which Sonko believes is corruption.
After Sonko’s revelations, Kenyans on Twitter took up the matter, calling for DCI to arrest PK and Maina Kamanda, and use Sonko to provide evidence.
They however started interrogating PK on twitter, releasing question after question, which PK kept on asking for the tabling of facts and enough evidence.
