Flamboyant City Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has revisited the Elgeyo Marakwet dam scandal as DCI continues with the investigations.
While taking to his social media Lawyer Kipkorir wrote saying that the Italian firm should not fool Kenyans as they are not able to construct the dam since they are bankrupt.
” Italians in E/Marakwet purporting to be ready to construct Arror & Kimwarer Dams think we suffer fools .. CMC di Ravenna went Bankrupt in December, 2018 .. Even before then, it was unable to built Itare Dam .. My People haven’t even be spoken to move .. Forest isn’t degazetted. “
The Arror and Kimwarer dam scandal emerged after the loss of Ksh 21 billion which was to be used for the construction of the dam.According to the investigations by the DCI, the money was paid to CMC Di Ravenna an Italian firm that was to excecute the job.
However the DCI summoned senior government officials who were involved in the loss of the funds including Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich, Eugene Wamalwa and Mwangi Kiunjuri who recorded statement with the DCI.
The matter is still under investigations.
