Arsene Wenger Rates Arsenal, Tottenham’s Chances Of PL Top-Four Finish

Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal’s form coupled with Chelsea’s result against Manchester United doesn’t bode well for their chances of a top-four finish in the Premier League.

The Gunners have lost their last three matches against Crystal Palace, Wolves and Leicester City that leaves them two points off fourth-placed Chelsea – who got a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday – with two matches to go.

And Wenger thinks Unai Emery’s side face an uphill battle to finish in the top four now, while he also rated Tottenham’s chances after they lost 1-0 to West Ham on Saturday.

“It’s bad for us [Arsenal] because we’ve now lost three games,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

“Let’s hope we can come back before the Man United game but the Chelsea result was not great for us.

“Tottenham had their fate in their hands, if they won this game [against West Ham] they would be secure.

“I think especially because they played the Champions League semi-final at home was a huge advantage, to be capable of resting players between the two Champions League games, and now they cannot afford that. It was a surprising defeat.”
