King of London Eliud Kipchonge romps into The Guinness World Book of Records


The greatest marathoner of the modern era as he is referred to many, Eliud Kipchonge proved to the world as he squared it out with his rivals at the Sport in the land of the queen, London- England.

Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge retained his champion title, the fourth time in a row in the London Marathon 2019 after clocking 02:02: 37.

Although the stiff competition was expected from Mo Farah, it instead came from three Ethiopians until the last Kilometre, Kipchoge and ever smiling proved worthy of the title.

It was a career-defining moment for the 35-year-old who was up on it against world stars like him in the sweat drawing race involving other greats like Mo Farah who came a distance fifth position losing all the glitter that was expected from him.

He cemented his place in the marathon history as the greatest marathoner of all time with as he pushed away from the chasing Ethiopian pack with only minutes to go to the finish line.

Kipchonge has now won 12 out of the 13 marathons that he has been involved in making him the world’s greatest marathoner.

There is no record of an athlete who has ever defended his title for a record four times in a row which is what makes Kipchonge a world-class marathoner thus qualifying him to enter into the books of record.
