Friends in Need; Mp Tim Wanyonyi Disperses Bursary on behalf of his ailing friend Ken Okoth

Westlands legislator Hon Tim Wanyonyi on Saturday presided over the disbursement of bursary cheques to more than 1,400 secondary, college and university students from Makina and Lindi wards in Kibra Constituency.

The soft spoken MP was called upon by the Kibra MP Ken Okoth who is currently in France for cancer treatment. Hon Tim Wanyonyi commended his counterpart for exemplary leadership skills that have improved the education standards in Kibra Constituency.

Hon Wanyonyi reiterated the power of education as the 21st century liberator from poverty. “Once you educate a child that is the best inheritance you can give them,” Hon Wanyonyi said.

The legislator who over Easter visited Hon Ken Okoth in Paris relayed his greetings adding that he is responding well to treatment.”Hon Ken is in good shape. He is currently being reviewed and with your prayers he will soon come back home,”he said.

Finally he encouraged the parents to deposit the cheques immediately to enhance easy accountability by Kibra NG-CDF.
