A few weeks ago, Francis Atwoli said that William Ruto will not be on the ballot in 2022. He told Lamu residents to take that to the nearest bank as a loan guarantee.
Even though some Tanga Tanga noisemakers accused Atwoli of plotting to kill Ruto, the COTU Secretary was speaking from an informed point view and was privy to some powerplay happenings going on behind the scenes.
It has since emerged that outspoken Lugari MP Ayub Savula is recruiting a team of 100 opposition MPs, who will draft a law to compel all presidential candidates to declare their wealth before being cleared to vie.
“Once the law is amended, it will be mandatory for the DP and other politicians eyeing the top seat on the land to explain and account for their wealth failure to which the electoral agency will block them from contesting,” the lawmaker said during a funeral in Kakamega on Saturday.
“I can tell you for free the Deputy President’s name will not be on the ballot box unless he comes out clear on how he amerced a lot of wealth.”
Details further reveal that Atwoli is among the key power brokers who are financing the MPs to come up with a law to stop Ruto from rising to State House.
Time is running out for the Anti-Ruto supporters as they come to terms with the fact that nobody can win against the DP in a free and fair election.
There only option is to block him from running. But will they?
