Coastal Leaders Call for Joho, Kingi Political Ceasefire Ahead of 2022

Coastal leaders have been challenged to unite ahead of the 2022 elections so as to consolidate the coastal votes.

Magarini MP Michael Kingi called for a political ceasefire among the regions’ leaders to boost their political capital in the next election.

Coastal region leaders have been urged to unite with the aim of finding ways to bring development in the region that seems to be lagging behind owing to what leaders have termed as divisive politics.

Speaking at Goshi in Malindi constituency where 30 cattle worth Ksh 6 million was distributed to families, Magarini Member of Parliament Michael Kingi called on Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho to settle their differences for the sake of the region’s growth.

Elsewhere, Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi cautioned politicians against playing politics in the country’s higher education sector.

Mwinyi in supporting calls by the Education CS asked politicians to disengage from education issues saying there was need to have professionals in government offices and public institutions for efficient delivery of services.
