Those disrespecting the president will lose, Nyeri MP tells off DP Ruto’ allies

Nyeri Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has again called out at Deputy President William Ruto’s allies who have been campaigning for the 2022 succession.

While taking to social media MP Wambugu recounted on a statement he made when he and a few other Members of Parliament formed the Kitaeleweka movement saying that they prophesied that those engaging in the 2022 campaigns will not end well, however, no one listened and now it has turned into a supremacy battle.

“#KITAELEWEKA – ONE YEAR LATER..Exactly one year ago we introduced #Kitaeleweka. The message was simple. You can’t campaign for the Presidency 4 years in advance, against the instructions of the incumbent President, and remain friends. It’s disrespectful at the very least, and direct insubordination. We ‘prophesied’ it will not end well. Instead of ‘people’ listening, we were called names. Now we are in a useless but necessary full-scale political supremacy war. I can prophesy again that those disrespecting the president will lose. But again they will not listen.#Kitaeleweka”

The Kitaeleweka movement comprises of the Jubilee members who are not in support of the DP Ruto’s presidential bid. The drastic shift happened after the DP’s name happened to be mentioned in the corruption scandals that have currently been under investigation.

This include the loss of Ksh 21 billion fund that was meant for the construction of Arror and Kimwarer dam in Elgeyo Marakwet which saw three cabinet secretaries dragged in the scandal.
