Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero will likely spent the weekend eating Githeri bila Avacado and sugarless porridge at a Police Station in Nairobi.
Kidero was arrested on Friday by EACC officials and has been charged with defrauding the County government of more than 68 million through irregular payments to a law firm.
This is the second time that the former governor has been arrested since he was ousted by Mike Sonko in the 2017 elections.
When you speak about corruption, then no one has benefited from it more than Kidero. This man is corruption itself.
He looted Mumias Sugar and did the same thing with Nairobi County. But who is his chief beneficiary? The name is Raila Odinga.
“I will do anything that to ensure that Raila clinches Presidency, even if I will use money.” These were the words of Kidero during an ODM delegates conference in 2016.
Kidero and Jimi Wanjigi were the key financiers of Raila’s presidential campaigns in 2017. It is rumored that the former governor contributed billions to the campaign. He also financed other ODM candidates in Nairobi.
Raila Odinga has been so vocal about corruption, condemning the theft of 21 billion in the Arror and Kimwarer Dams Scandal. But he goes silent when ODM governors are mentioned in corruption.
Kenyans are waiting to hear what he will do in the Kidero issue.
