The death of two casualties caught in the middle of a police chase at a Kisii market did not end well as enraged residents were baying for the blood of the officers.
The two were killed when a police car was chasing after a matatu and ended up ramming into a crowd at the Itumbe market. Several others were injured.
“Immediately after the accident, locals engaged police in running battles as the officers fought to take the body of the deceased away,” said an eyewitness.
Locals, in protest barricaded and lit fire on the roads demanding justice for the deceased as the officers took off.
