How Jonathan Moi’s Death is shaping the Anti-Ruto Crusade

I don’t know why Kenyan politicians like funerals more than visiting people in hospital. In less than one week, so many people have visited Mzee Moi, most of them didn’t even know Jonathan personally.

Gideon Moi, the Baringo Senator is at the center of all this drama, trying to mince every drop of political mileage from his brother’s death.

Politicians love funerals because they get a free a crowd, to spew their nonsense. But I have never heard before, of a family using their departed relative to settle political scores.

COTU Secretary Francis Atwoli was the first to visit Moi at his Kabarak home on Thursday. He was only the second person to be allowed to see the former President after President Kenyatta.

Atwoli is one of Ruto’s biggest critics and has openly said that the DP will not be on the ballot in 2022. This could be the reason he was allowed to see Moi.

Later in the afternoon, Gideon allowed Kalonzo Musyoka and Peter Kenneth to see his father. Kalonzo is among the people who have critized Ruto’s church donations. Well, Peter Kenneth still thinks it is Ruto who denied him a chance to be Nairobi governor.

Non of Ruto’s supporters have been allowed to see Mzee Moi. The Deputy President visited Jonathan’s home in Kabimoi after being denied access to Mzee.

It seems Jonathan’s death has been used as a platform to destroy Ruto ahead of the 2022 elections. Gideon should be ashamed of his actions.
