Fate of 4 suspects who stole Huduma Namba Kits

Thursday arraigned four suspects named Timothy Kiswii Mutunga,
Samuel Wanjohi Murithi and Boniface Ngate Ongoma were arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts for allegedly stealing Huduma Namba registration gadgets.

The three appeared before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, who charged them with different accounts of theft.

Mr. Mwasame was charged with stealing two tablets worth Ksh.70,000

Mr. Ongoma was charged with stealing a tablet and a charger worth Ksh.38,000

Mr. Mutunga and Mr. Murithi were each charged with stealing a tablet worth Ksh.35,000,

The four were also charged with an additional count of handling stolen goods against the law.

The four suspects reportedly illegally gained access to the Government Press offices on 23rd April impersonating as technicians and personalized the gadgets under the guise of installing the software.

However, They denied the charges and were released on a cash bail of Ksh.30,000 or Ksh.50,000 bond.

The case will be mentioned on May 6.
