Ruto fires a response to the Critics of his ‘dirty money’ to Churches

Deputy President Dr William Ruto has fired a response at his critics on his frequent Church tours.

The DP cught the attention of the critics over the money he normally leave in Churches during Harambees.

The Churches have also been criticised for accepting the money from politicians, whose source is not clear.

The DP has been linked to various graft claims, with the most recent being the Kimwarer and Arror dams money in which the DP said it was not Ksh 21 billion in question, but only Ksh 7 billion.

However, the church on Tuesday came out to tell off politicians, saying that they would not use pulpits to cleanse their dirty money.

The Anglican Church of Kenya through its archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit said it will now review donations made to the church by politicians.

The bishop who was speaking at a media briefing by the Multi-sectoral Iniative Against Corruption said it was evil to clean proceeds of corruption by donating to charity.

“Let us not allow harambee money to become a subtle way of sanitising corrupt leaders,”the bishop said.

At the same briefing, Sapit vowed to rally up the Anglican clergy and people of goodwill to fight corruption.

He also took a swipe at leaders who were undermining institutions that are mandated to fight corruption,of which Ruto is among them.

In what appears like a response to critics, Ruto says believers will continue to worship Jehovah with their hearts and substance.

Church to politicians: You wont use the pulpit to clean dirty money

He says Since Sunday school, they learned to kneel before and worship GOD, which is the ONLY reason they stand before men.

“Since Sunday school we learned to kneel before and worship GOD that’s the ONLY reason we stand before men. We will continue to worship JEHOVAH with our hearts and substance. We are unashamed of our God & unapologetic of our faith. We are Christians first other title after,” he posted.
