Mysterious death of youth leader in Lamu causes uproar

Panic gripped residents of Lamu as they found the body of slain youth leader Amina Bakari.

Amina’s body was found after she had been hit on the head, after she had just closed her shop at 10 pm. The attack is said to be that of revenge since her murderes did not steal anything from her.

This is as many deaths have been reported in the area as a result of revenge on information givers or even administrators where a chief was killed early 2017 by unknown attackers.

Amina was a well know peer educator, who had been trained by the Harm Reduction Project, a peace ambassador as well as a Nyumba Kumi official.

“She was a very resourceful person, she was an educator who had helped drug users from Faza ward, her loss is greatly felt by us,” said a Kenya Red Cross representative Lamu court, Kawthar Mohamed.

Police have meanwhile launched a thorough manhunt for the attackers.
