Kenyans wonder if rainfall is a blessing

Rainfall has been regarded as a sign of blessings even in the biblical times.

Famine, on the other hand, has been attributed to curses God uses on sinners even in the bible.

Kenya is currently witnessing heavy downpour in various regions.

Does the magnitude of the precipitation indicate the extent of blessings associated by it? Lesser rain less heavenly favours and vice versa.

A popular political analyst David Makali posted on tweeter wondering whether the long awaited rains is a blessing to us or Kenyans are never prepared for the massive ‘blessings’.

The nature of rain witnessed in Kenya have puzzled even the meteorological department.

It is unpredictable and always causes havoc.

It is interesting, however, that we as Kenyans do not rejoice with the onset of torrents – we look on rainy days as bad days and frown upon it.

Because people get displaced by floods as others die in the process.

Transport system curtailed by impassible roads.

Unprecedented blackouts.

Kenyans overlook the benefits accrued from rainfall hence actually curse the days that are blessings to us.

Before you complain, note that the abundant food is just because of the rain.

What must we do to embrace rainfall as blessings?
