Why Manchester City Must Be Cautious of Wounded Manchester United

Football pundit Jamie Carragher believes that Manchester City will face a hard time to deal with wounded Manchester United when they meet on Wednesday.

This is after the Red Devils were thrashed 4-0 by Everton at Goodison Park and Carragher believes that the title chasers will have to climb that mountain.

The former Liverpool defender states that Manchester United will have the chance Wednesday to prove to their fans their worth.

“I think if United would have won 4-0 at Everton as opposed to what’s happened I think it’s different,” Carragher said on Monday Night Football.

“I think Pep Guardiola will be thinking ‘I didn’t want that’.

“I know that might sound strange but Pep Guardiola will be thinking it’s a derby game, they lost 4-0, the reaction, even the crowd.

“People are saying they want City to win the title, of course, they do – that’s football, that’s fans but even as a United supporter watching that yesterday they don’t want to go to Old Trafford on Wednesday and watch their team get beat three or four nil again.”

He said these albeit not because Manchester United are strong enough to stop Manchester City.
