Waititu lectures Uhuru on Ruto’s 2022 bid

Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu has come out breathing fire this time,this time energy directed to president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Waititu over the weekend accused Uhuru of being silent while the man who made him president is being attacked by political brokers within the Mount Kenya region.

Speaking over the Weekend,Waititu said that Uhuru is president courtesy of the DP who tiredly campaigned for him.

“Ruto made Uhuru president and he Uhuru should reciprocate the same especially in Mount Kenya region,”Waititu said.

Waititu, however, expressed confidence the DP still enjoyed massive support from the public despite strong criticisms from a section of leaders.

“Let me tell you, deputy president, even if we leaders fail you, the people are with you,” he said.

According to the Kiambu county boss, the vast Central Kenya region would rally behind Ruto because the DP played a pivotal role in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s rise to power.

“Mount Kenya faithfuls are smart people. We don’t want to look like conmen who conned people of Rift Valley. We don’t want to look like children,” he said amid applause from the crowd.

Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambition faces major obstacles threatening to scuttle his bid, despite his relentless campaigning to succeed Uhuru.

The fast-shifting political dynamics in Kikuyu politics, coupled with the unsettling truce between Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga, pose a grave threat to Ruto’s State House bid.

Murathe bluntly stated he Kikuyu community does not have any MoU with Ruto regarding support in 2022.

“If he (Ruto) has an MoU with Uhuru Kenyatta, then that was an agreement between two individuals,” Marathe said in Vihiga during the Maragoli Cultural Celebrations.

Politicians outside Mt. Kenya region may be manipulating the region’s politics to ensure that the vote-rich region fails to have a common direction come 2022 and influence its break up along the Central – Embu, Tharaka Nithi and Meru axis.
