Should Ruto Count on ‘Mt. Kenya’ support in 2022?

Dp Ruto is currently a man under ‘Sieke’ after what it was expected to be a smooth transition of power from his boss Uhuru Kenyatta to him in 2022 proves to be a tall mountain to climb

Former Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe just the other day triggered a political firestorm in the government after he stated on a local tv interview that Deputy President William Ruto must not be there in 2022.

Murathe who has repeatedly stated that Kikuyu community does not have an MoU with Ruto regarding support in 2022 has been criticized by Rift Valley leaders as the most divisive politician in the country.

This could be seen as an individual opinion but Murathe could be speaking on behalf of many other silent central residents and hos boss Uhuru Kenyatta who has recently distanced himself even further from his deputy.

Oscar Sudi has urged various investigative authorities to arrest  David Murathe accusing him of planning to assassinate the Deputy President. ” It is very unfortunate for a leader of Murathe’s calibre to utter words recklessly against the country’s number two in command.

Parading ignorance that Ruto must not be there in 2022 can only mean that there’s a ploy to exterminate him” Oscar Sudi quipped. “It is not going to be easy this time round. The DCI must step in and arrest Murathe before Rift Valley voters take the law into their own hands” Sudi added.

These are clear indications that dp Ruto should not put all his eggs under one basket. Burryig his head under the sand and assuming that everything is right is a grave mistake that might cost him his 2022 ambitions.

Definately not all Mt. Kenya voters are going to dump dp Ruto, there will be those loyal friends who will stand by a man who made ‘forgeting Uhuru’ who he is today.

But this does not make Ruto rule out any eventualities, one day in Politics determines a lot. Ruto should be slow to anger, reactions and very easy to approach.

His roght man, Murkomen has blamed investigative authorities for selective justice urging that Rift Valley politicians are always targeted in an effort to bar the Deputy President from taking over the country’s leadership in 2022.

What was to be a smooth transition from President Uhuru Kenyatta to Deputy William Ruto is turning into a nightmare for the DP after fresh and more serious opposition emerged from within his Jubilee Party and populous Central Kenya.

Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambition faces major obstacles threatening to scuttle his bid, despite his relentless campaigning to succeed Uhuru. The fast-shifting political dynamics in Kikuyu politics, coupled with the unsettling truce between Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga, pose a grave threat to Ruto’s State House bid.

And then there’s the fact that some of Ruto’s allies are quietly being removed from plum positions, while others re facing corruption charges.

Before 2022, only time will tell who will have laid his strategies well for the top seat. Ruto should just concentrate on making more friends and reducing the number of his enemies!
