Husband Kills Himself After Wife Ignores His Calls

A 31-year-old man from Kadie Village in Homa Bay County committed suicide on Monday night after his wife allegedly failed to receive his phone calls.

Erick Ooko, a bodaboda rider, took poison identified as Triatix an insecticide used to kill ticks in cattle.

Eric committed the crime at his home following a misunderstanding with his wife a week ago, which saw the wife flee from home to her parents home.

Ooko tried reaching his wife over the phone but his calls went unanswered something which triggered him to swallows two bottles of the named poison.

The chief reported that Ooko’s wife had earlier agreed to return to her matrimonial home on Wednesday, April 24, but when Ooko called to follow up, his wife allegedly declined to answer his calls.

The chief reported that Ooko arrived at his parents’ home on Monday evening and told his father that he was returning to a nearby trading center to send his wife bus-fare. However, Ooko went to his house and locked himself in there where he took the poison and died.

The deceased had a wife’s passport size picture was, in the pocket of his pair of trousers.

Ooko’s body was taken to Rachuonyo Sub-County Hospital mortuary.

Every time you have dispute with your partner it is always good to keep in touch with them. Avoiding them could worsen the situation.
