How Ruto dug his own Grave

Ousted Sudan dictator Omar Al Bashir, was brought down because of increasing the price of bread.

Al Bashir, committed many crimes including the massacre of people in Darfur, he was wanted by the ICC but it is the price of bread, a very small matter, that brought his 30-year reign to an end.

In politics, it is the small things that matter. I wish William Ruto would have known the meaning of these words before making the ‘reckless’ statements over the weekend.

In a video that has gone viral, Ruto accuses certain people of ruining political parties, uprooting a railway line and failing to manage their political bases.

Of course, we know Ruto did not mention the Luo community, but his ‘enemies’ were bound to capitalize on these words. They would create every propaganda from it.

Already, critics say he is not fit to occupy State House because of his divisive nature of politics and this will not go away after the viral video.

Ruto has fought many battles to reach where he is at the moment. After ditching KANU, he took over as the Rift Valley Kingpin from Moi’s stranglehold. Nobody had dared Moi for close to thirty years.

And in 2013 and 2017, he single fought Raila and delivered the presidency to Uhuru Kenyatta, who at one time did not believe he could be President.

But Kenyan politics is a game of high stakes, one error may blow you away. Things are so different for Ruto, because those who are against him have run short of tricks to halt his match to State House.

But out of nowhere, the man himself presents one. In a rare moment of madness, he decides to go all attack on ‘Watu wa kungo’a reli’

Ruto has released a statement saying he was quoted out of contest. But is it enough?

If the man does not become President in 2022, then it will have something to do with the Easter of 2019.
