Following their heated 1-1 draw with Ulinzi at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Gor Mahia will play their second match in 3 days when they host Bandari at the same venue on Tuesday afternoon. The Mombasa based side have been Gor Mahia’s bogey team in the pat few seasons and knocked them out of the Shield Cup last month.

Hassan Oktay’s side has been enduring off-field problems which have translated into the pitch, Gor is winless in their last 4 competitive fixtures. That record could have changed in their match against Ulinzi but the Soldiers were awarded a non-existent penalty which allowed them to equalize, much to Hassan Oktay’s displeasure.

Bandari comes into this fixture in a rich vein of form, winning 4 in a row and now sit 3rd on the log with 45 points, just a single point behind Gor Mahia. K’Ogallo rarely loses in Kisumu but that proud record will be under serious threat on Tuesday afternoon. Should they fail to pick maximum points, questions will start to be asked of their title chances despite having played 3 games less than table toppers Sofapaka.

Gor Mahia’s form since the first leg of their CAF Confederations Cup quarter final with RS Berkane has been wanting and has not been helped by the financial problems the players are going through. However, there is a title to be defended, a win against Bandari would be the ideal statement to Sofapaka.
