Some kiosks in
The bus park in Bungoma county is now calling for immediate action over claims of widespread immorality and crime at the stage.
Locals have decried an alleged transformation of the bus stage into a site where criminals sell hard and soft drugs, which is far from its intended purpose. Prostitution is also another of the immoral operation that happens at the same stage once darkness falls, making the situation twice as bad.
According to locals, drug peddlers have established makeshift kiosks from where they sell the drugs, under the disguise of khat and kuber.
They want the county governor Wycliffe Wangamati and his team to do the necessary and save the young generation from the influence of bad elements operating at the bus park.
However, it’s not clear if the county leadership has caught wind of the illegal trade which is mostly targeting teenagers.
