 The boldest among us probably wouldn’t want to wear these bikini bottoms from Marks and Spencer, which have gone viral for all the wrong reasons but body positivity movement has made many of us feel more confident during ‘bikini season’.

The £14 hipster bottoms have a very oddly placed red pattern, which has caused shoppers to recoil in horror. The design quite clearly resembles a period stain and consumers took to the internet to share their bafflement that the product made it onto the market with no-one pointing this out.

On the website product reviews, one disgruntled customer wrote: “The red ombré patch on the front is in the wrong place it looks as if I have a very bad leakage when on my period!”Definitely NOT a good look or one I want to sport when I am on my holiday.”

Another added: “Not going to lie this makes it look like you had an accident on your period.”The bizarre pants drew even more ridicule when they were shared on Twitter, where they quickly racked up over five thousand likes and shares.
