How Kenyans reacted to governor Mutua’s warning to rogue medics

Monday morning warning tweet by governor Alfred Mutua following claims that a woman was forced to give birth at reception in a private hospital in Machakos as nurses were enjoying tea was met with a mixed reaction by Kenyans.

Mutua tweeted: Officials from my Government and the Kenya Medical Board & Nursing board will this morning visit the privately owned & managed Shalom Hospital in Athi River. We will not allow patients in any facility – Govt or otherwise – in my region, to be treated inhumanely. Watajua Hawajui.

Thank you for responding. I hope this will not occur again in any hospital within Machakos County.— David Maina Ndung’u🇰🇪 (@ItsDavidMaina) April 22, 2019

Wacha threats pia! Could be those in the video do not have training on maternal health. They could just be front office staff. Twitter cannot offer logical conclusion on the matter.— ObiBarak (@jakapeno) April 22, 2019
