President Uhuru sends a “tearful” tribute to Moi’s family

President Uhuru Kenyatta has joined other Kenyans to mourn Jonathan Moi, the son of the former President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi.

President Uhuru Kenyatta received the news of the passing of Jonathan Moi in great shock and disbelief. Uhuru described Jonathan Moi as a friend and brother.

“JT, as Jonathan was popularly known to many of us, was a humble, kind, generous and courageous person. JT’s word was always his bond, he was dependable,” President Uhuru stated.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has conveyed his deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the family of Moi and prayed for God to grant them grace and strength to bear with the great lose.

The Safari Rally fraternity has also mourned the passing of Jonathan Moi who was among the legends in the sport.

Moi’s long-serving Press Secretary Lee Njiru confirmed the death. He went on to explain that the family would issue a comprehensive statement on Sunday.

Njiru asked Kenyans to respect the family’s privacy as they come to terms with the loss.

“I have been asked by the Moi family to tell Kenyans to respect their privacy at this mourning period of their beloved kin,” he stated.
