Governor Mutua supports the ban on church politics

The Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua has supported the proposal of the Catholic Church Bishop to ban church Politics.

According to Governor Mutua, the bishops should not only ban church politics but money brought to church got from corruption deals.

While taking to social media media Mutua wrote saying,” I support the decision by the Kenyan Catholic Church Bishops of banning politics in Church. I encourage them to also ban some politicians from “cleaning” illegally acquired (corruption) money in church harambees. Yes, we need money for God’s work but it shouldn’t be blood money. “

His remarks come after the Catholic Church in Kenya banned politicians from politicking in church.

The decision to bar leaders from talking politics in the church was made following a meeting of Catholic Bishops.

According to Bishop David Kamau, there must be a clear boundary between church and politics, stating that politicians should carry their businesses elsewhere and not in churches.
