Governor Mutua checks on late Jonathan Moi’s wife as he sends his condolence message

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua have joined other political leaders in sending their tributes to the bereaved family of the former President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi after lose of elder son.

Governor Alfred Mutua has taken a notch higher by checking on the wife of the late Jonathan Toroitich Arap Moi.

Through his message governor Mutua has wished that God should grant Moi’s family and that of the late Jonathan comfort at this hard time.

This comes as other leaders sent their condolences messages led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, former President Mwai Kibaki, Deputy President William Ruto , former Prime Minister Raila Odinga among other leaders.


Moi’s long-serving Press Secretary Lee Njiru confirmed the death. He went on to explain that the family would issue a comprehensive statement on Sunday. 

Njiru asked Kenyans to respect the family’s privacy as they come to terms with the loss.

“I have been asked by the Moi family to tell Kenyans to respect their privacy at this mourning period of their beloved kin,” he stated. 

He participated in several rally tournaments before retiring. He has been away from the public limelight since then.

Jonathan vied for Eldama Ravine parliamentary seat in 2002 and lost to Musa Sirma.
