Solai Dam victims receive magnificent houses

Kenya Red Cross has finally bailed out victims of Solai Dam disaster in a big way.

The charity organization chairman Abbas Gullet on Thursday presided over the handing over of 37 new houses to families that had lost their shelter to a tragic dam burst in Solai in May 2018.

Over 40 people lost their lives in the Nakuru incident.

Gullet confirmed that the magnificent houses were constructed with funding from the Kenyan Government.

The Kenya RedCross Society also rehabilitated a water supply system in the area that hasn’t been functional for the last 10 years.

Approximately 10,000 people will benefit from the water system.

One of the beneficiaries has expressed her joy and thanked the society for rescuing their lives.
