Serikali Saidia! Governors plead as food crisis prolongs

The delayed rains continues to affect several counties engulfed by drought.

To salvage the situation, governors have now come out to call for support from the National government.

A section Of governors has called on the national Government to expedite the disbursement of resources and emergency funds to drought stricken areas.

Led by Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi, the County bosses say the situation risks turning into conflicts that may worsen the situation.

Makueni Governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana on his part has called on Kenyans to brace for tougher times.

The famine has also caused conflicts among the pastoralists who fight for grazing sites and water.

Food security is among President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big 4 Agenda.

The recorded pangs of hunger directly tarnish Jubilees legacy.
